Amor Dolce (Virelais, Ballate, Rondeaux and Estampies from the 14th Century)
Music of the world
MAGALI IMBERT (recorders, chalumeaux) and ADEL SHAMS EL-DIN (percussion). The meeting of 14th-century French and Italian Medieval repertoire and oriental rhythms, enhancing the melodies by Guillaume de Machaut or Gheradello da Firenze, and reminding us that in those times musicians were big travellers and the princes of the Occident encouraged the coexistence and blending of Christian, Jewish, Moslem, German, Arab and Provençal traditions. The virelais, ballatas, rondeaux and estampies performed by this imaginative duet revive the spirit of music in movement, constantly renewing itself in the present moment.
