Waiting 4 The Sun
Although better known as a composer, François Moity is also a remarkable pianist, who has played alongside Manu Dibango, Pierre Akendengué, Mory Kanté and Charlélie Couture, among others.
This album presents the quintessence of his aesthetical choices, which he thus defines: « The idea behind this album was to pay a tribute to all the great composers who gave me a strong taste for music at an early age, especially music to accompany images. The first names that come to mind are Ennio Morricone, John Barry, Lalo Schifrin and Henry Mancini. Then pop music, jazz and world music came along… The result of all these influences is gathered in the present album. Heterogeneous in its form and in the end (as I wished) homogeneous in its content, this ensemble may evoke the score of an imaginary film, or bring to mind the warmth of cinema theatres, waiting 4 the sun ».
For this very personal project, François Moity has gathered around him some highly skilled and experienced studio musicians, as well as the Budapest Symphony Orchestra.
